Karen Borga Fiber Artist

A Journey of Creativity and Inspiration

My creative roots run deep, thanks to my grandmother, Marguerite Christensen, who taught me to knit, crochet, embroider, sew, and many more fiber arts techniques. Later, I studied fiber arts under Kumiko Murashima at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). My career included print & website design, product design, and social media marketing, as well as entrepreneurship giving me a variety of useful skills.

I was lost after closing a business I loved. As a birthday gift, my children bought me a rigid heddle loom knowing it was a passion of mine from college. Bamm, I was back! I needed to relearn how to warp, find exciting yarn, and explore textures. It wasn’t long before I wanted to find a community of “like-minded” people to build new friendships.

Today, I dedicate my life to the fiber arts, and I want to inspire others to weave creativity into their everyday lives. Whether you’re new to creativity or have been doing it for some time, each project offers an opportunity to relax, be inspired, learn, grow, and create something special.

“I pray you are blessed to have creativity in your life.” – Karen Borga
